Orchid farming needs boost


The report “Few Malaysians in orchid farming” (The Star, Sept 14) is a timely discussion, and more importantly, is a welcome government “intervention” on how Malaysian orchid growers can benefit from this lucrative business.

It’s rather perplexing that Malaysia, with its vast expanse of land, which is suitable for orchid cultivation, does not profit from the blooming industry.
