Banking on China’s future for strategic reasons


MALAYSIA would do well to bank its future with China, “Najib: Increased trade ties with China mutually beneficial” (The Star, Aug 20).

On the surface, Malaysia seems to have a losing bargain. To date, Malaysian companies have invested US$7bil (RM22bil) in China compared to China’s US$1bil (RM3.2bil) investments in Malaysia, including investments in the China Kuantan Industrial Park.
