MOST educated persons in this time and age would find it unscientific and irrational to associate the defilement of Mount Kinabalu, via the recent antics of the Westerners who stripped naked near the summit, with the tragic earthquake that took the lives of many climbers and guides.
Yet if we look around, we will see that the summits of many mountains in different cultures and times are more than geographic locales. They are also considered to be sacred places which need to be respected or revered.
