AS we commemorate our 58th Merdeka anniversary on Aug 31, let’s remind ourselves, our children and all who love Malaysia as our own, to truly know and honour our nation’s three great symbols.

The Rukun Negara, our national philosophy, was proclaimed exactly 45 years ago, on Aug 31, 1970, by our fourth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Seri Paduka Baginda Almarhum Tuanku Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Ibni Almarhum Sultan Zainal Abidin.
