Dog shooting raises a host of questions

IT came as a rude shock to me and dog lovers in Malaysia to see photos on Facebook of a dog shot dead by the Rompin District Council. Apparently, the shooting exercise has been taking place for some time.

As far as I am aware, shooting was prohibited by the government a few years ago. How could this have happened? A poor dog in Rompin named Rocky was shot mercilessly in front of its owner’s house. It was shot in a residential area after midnight. The residents’ safety is also in question.
