Regulate publishing of books materials

WE refer to the letter “No ‘teeth brush’ for our children, please” (The Star, Dec 12) and “Workbook not in Education Ministry’s list” (The Star, Dec 15). It’s commendable of the writer, as a concerned and pro-active parent, to highlight the glaring mistakes spotted in his son’s educational material.

Assessing the level of inaccuracy identified in the material, suffice it to say that both the national language and English were equally taken for granted by the publisher and author. The ministry has thus promptly responded to clarify that such materials are not endorsed by it.
