A solution to bank fingerprint problem

BANKS are currently required to verify customer fingerprints by matching them against the fingerprint biometric data in the computer chip embedded in their identity cards before allowing any transaction, including updating of passbooks, over the counter.

It is a hassle and sometimes embarrassing for senior citizens, particularly octogenarians, as the ridges in their thumbs are worn out due to ageing process and the tellers find it difficult to verify the fingerprints.
