I REFER to the recent deluge of articles about elite classes and would like to add to the comments. I agree with most that it is a tough job for teachers to teach a class of 40 students with mixed abilities.
Faced with such a class, most teachers would wisely teach at a pace and level of the average student. By doing this, most of the students (the majority being average in a normal distribution) will benefit from the learning experience.
