Heritage buildings in need of care

The old Kuala Lumpur Railway Station was designed by British architectural assistant Arthur Benison Hubback and built in 1910. The iconic building includes a hotel section.

I WAS driving past the old Railway Station in Kuala Lumpur when I noticed that this national treasure was in such a poor state. There was even a tree/plant growing in a crevice that was very visible to passers-by.

This is an iconic building and a national treasure. How can the responsible authority allow such deterioration to occur to such a magnificent building that has framed the covers of numerous books and featured in calendars, postcards, etc?
