The national language is still relevant

MALAYSIANS should strengthen their Bahasa Melayu’s proficiency because it is our national language since independence. If we cannot master our own national language how do you expect to learn other languages as well?

Recently, I have seen people on Twitter debating the issue of using Bahasa Melayu in our daily lives, with some of them questioning the value of doing so and even belittling the practice. Ridiculously, some of them even said “Bahasa is only for uneducated people”, “Bahasa is only for village people” while others even bragged that learning it will only make us outdated. Honestly, I am very disappointed by such sentiments.
