THE report headlined “Fish breeders in troubled waters” (The Star, May 28), highlighting the serious water pollution in Penang, is a timely warning for our Energy, Science, Technology, Environment and Climate Change Ministry to be adequately funded so that it can increase monitoring and enforcement efforts to tackle serious pollution issues.
It is almost trite to note that water and air pollution pose a dire negative impact on the health of humans and sea life. Simply put, the former causes great harm to the latter and must therefore be urgently addressed.
