Cancelling Ramadan bazaars is vital to save lives

I TOTALLY agree with the decision announced in the news article “Final decision: No Ramadan bazaars nationwide during MCO, says Ismail Sabri” (The Star, April 3; online at bit.ly/star_final) quoting Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Cancelling Ramadan bazaars is the best way to limit the spread of Covid-19. We have done well in containing the pandemic thus far, and we must not hurry to lift the movement control order (MCO). Our efforts to stay home for almost a month now will be made meaningless if we allow the bazaars to spark a new surge in infections.
