FREAK storms like the one that ravaged several places in Melaka on Tuesday are not just freak but are also getting more common in this country. Their occurrences have been reported without fail every year but in different locations, hence they seem to be freak to any one locality.

However, they are known worldwide as mini tornadoes, i.e. short-lived tornadoes categorised as F0 on the Fujita Scale for rating tornado intensity.
