REFERRING to the report “Rafflesia sanctuary in Tasik Kenyir destroyed” (The Star, March 11), this should be the last straw in the rampant destruction of our environment in the name of development or capitalist profiteering.

The senseless destruction of the sanctuary struck a sensitive chord in many who are concerned about the environment but do not have the power or the voice to do much to prevent such incidents from happening.
