Consider arranging quarantine-free travel with Australia

I READ with interest your article titled “Quarantine requirements discourage Malaysian and global tourists from travelling” dated Oct 28 (StarLifestyle; online at bit.ly/star_borders). It comes as no surprise that quarantine requirements remain a major deterrent to international travel for everyone.

Malaysia’s upcoming plan to open quarantine-free travel for international tourists to Langkawi from mid-November onwards is certainly a step forward towards “living with the virus”. Moreover, recent discussions between the Malaysian and Singaporean governments to reopen borders through dedicated travel lanes is undoubtedly a welcome move for citizens on both sides of the Causeway.
