Stop depending on imports

THE Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) welcomes the action taken by the government to stabilise the price of goods following the decision made at the National Action Council on Cost of Living meeting on Jan 31, which CAP attended and which was chaired by the Prime Minister.

We welcome the decision to set the ceiling price of chicken at RM8.90 even though the government will have to provide subsidies to cover the cost for consumers. We are also positive about the decision to maintain the price of Grade A, B and C eggs according to the current Malaysian Family Maximum Price Scheme.
