ON MARCH 8, 2018 in Santiago, Chile, ministers from 11 nations including Malaysia signed the economically important and strategic Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), a multilateral free trade agreement formerly known as the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

It is imperative that the electrical and electronics industry in Malaysia leverage the CPTPP to ramp up efforts for economic recovery especially given the impending global recession and also the war in Ukraine.
