ON March 30, deputy Education Minister Lim Hui Ying told the Dewan Rakyat that six core subjects had been identified as facing a shortage of teachers. They are Bahasa Melayu, English, Islamic Studies, Design and Technology, Visual Arts Education, and History.
The gravity of the teacher shortage is particularly severe in Sabah and Sarawak.
