Why aren’t creative works deemed academic at universities?

ALMOST all university publications focus on what is regarded as academic works that comprise evidence-based research through primary field works, laboratory research or the use of empirical data and secondary sources.

All other works that do not meet this scientific algorithm are categorised as non-academic and tend not to be considered for publication. Such is the fate of literary creative works that include novels, short stories, poems and plays. They are deemed imaginative and creative works that are not evidence-based and thus cannot be verified quantita- tively, so they are ultimately categorised as non-academic.
