We need to approach alternative energy proposals cautiously

SAHABAT Alam Malaysia (SAM) welcomes the launch of Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) Phase 2 on Aug 29, 2023, by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim ("Alternative energy, the way forward"). We commend the government for being proactive in charting the roadmap in the country’s energy transition that reduces our dependence on polluting fossil fuels as we move towards a low carbon economy.

The setting up of the RM2bil seed fund for the National Energy Transition Facility is a step in the right direction in galvanising further finance for this vital transition to clean energy.
