LAWYERS for Liberty refers to news reports about people involved in the Sept 16, 2023, “Save Malaysia” rally in Kuala Lumpur being summoned by the police questioning ("Cops seeking statements of 25 people over 'Save Malaysia' rally", The Star, Sept 17; online at tinyurl.com/3uxumpt2).

This comes after Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Allaudeen Abdul Majid’s statement on Saturday that the rally was unlawful as it allegedly did not comply with the Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 (PAA).
