Budget 2024 offers glimpse of hope

THE Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) feels that Budget 2024 is generally comprehensive as it includes the shift to a low carbon economy and forms of sustainable energy. We are glad to note that the budget also touched on wildlife conflict and environmental conservation and preservation.

We also note plans to provide a clean water supply in Kelantan, Sabah and Labuan. In 2002, the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights defined the right of everyone to have access “to sufficient, safe, acceptable, physically accessible and affordable water for personal and domestic uses”.
