Rigorous steps needed to stop the diabetes epidemic in Malaysia

THE World Health Organisation (WHO) and the International Diabetes Federation have declared today, Nov 14, World Diabetes Day. Since it was marked for the first time in 1991, the day has become the primary awareness campaign for the global diabetes community.

In 2023, the WHO campaign focuses on the importance of knowing the risk of Type 2 diabetes. The campaign also highlights the impact of diabetes-related complications besides focusing on the importance of having access to the right information and care in the treatment and management of this disease.
