Clarity in dispensing justice


THE opening of the Legal year 2024 at the Putrajaya Convention Centre on Jan 15 was not short of the pomp and regalia that is a hallmark of the profession. While one has dispensed with horse hair wigs, as practised in other jurisdictions, the inevitable “call to the Bar” and the process of being “robed” to signify entry into the profession are still firmly etched in the minds of many who have chosen this career.

The three main stakeholders in the justice system, namely the Chief Justice (CJ), Attorney General (AG) and the President of the Bar Council, shared their views and, to a certain extent, the challenges specific to the legal space in which they operate and have responsibility for.
