Pensioners miss out on RM100 emadani credit

I REFER to the reports “emadani: Make sure to use your remaining credit before it expires on Friday (March 1)” (The Star, Feb 28), and “emadani: MoF says 2022 income tax filing is required to qualify for RM100 incentive” (The Star, Dec 8 Dec, 2023). In both reports, it was stated that the emadani initiative was conceived with the goal of easing the financial burdens faced by Malaysians.

However, many deserving citizens were left out in this handout of RM100 via their ewallet. One of the reasons given by the authority tasked with coordinating this initiative was these persons did not file their income tax returns for 2022.
