ALL state education departments would have briefed school principals on the Dual Language Programme (DLP) by now. Either state education departments still do not understand the programme’s objectives, which is highly unlikely, or they are pushing for their own twisted interpretation of what DLP is, which will be highly damaging to the future of students and the nation.
The Parent Action Group for Education Malaysia (PAGE) has been informed that at a recent briefing, an officer with the state education department of Kuala Lumpur advised principals that if a student speaks the English language then put him/her in a non-DLP class where science and mathematics are taught in Malay or Tamil.
