THE Association for Welfare, Community and Dialogue (Acid) welcomes the statement by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim that Malaysia is preparing to join the economic group known as BRICS comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

BRICS was established in 2009 (South Africa joined in 2010) to enhance economic, political, and cultural cooperation among its member countries.
