Govt urged to mitigate effects of extended heatwave to safeguard food security

WITH the hot, dry weather during the current south-west monsoon period, water reserves are dwindling to critical levels and the agricultural sector has been hit hard.

MCA bureau chairman and Bekok assemblyman Tan Chong has urged the government to take immediate measures to mitigate the effects of the heatwave as the country's food security is threatened.
