Are we ready for mpox in M’sia?

WHILE the World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared mpox (or monkey pox) a public health emergency of international concern, I have yet to hear much of a reaction from our government, not even the Health Ministry in terms of awareness of the threat, unlike with Covid-19.

According to the WHO, mpox is an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus that can cause a painful rash, enlarged lymph nodes, and fever.
