BIKE Commute Malaysia, as part of the Civil Society for Safer Streets Coalition Malaysia, would like to respond to the article headlined “Speed limits at school zones to be lowered to 30kph soon, says Zahid” (The Star, July 15).

We are very happy to hear that the speed limit in these zones will be reduced, and we call for urgency in implementing the change. We also urge the government to consider the following measures when implementing this policy.
