Discrimination persists in rental market

FROM my experience, renting a property in Malaysia can be difficult for people with dark skin. Despite being a professional and fully capable of paying the rent on time, the moment I mention my name, I will be told that the property is no longer available. Agents will not even respond to my messages when I ask them about the properties advertised on their websites.

This is a very serious matter and I’m wondering why the authorities concerned aren’t doing anything about it. Those who are experiencing this discrimination must not stay quiet. We need to voice out this issue.
