SCHOOL-BASED assessment was implemented to replace UPSR (Primary 6 exam) and PT3 (Form 3 exam) in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

While the system offers a more integrated and holistic approach in evaluating students’ academic achievements, it is less effective in fostering the optimum gaining of knowledge and skills in the critical subjects – English, maths and science – at primary and lower secondary level.
