Exempt seniors from dividend tax


I REFER to the planned introduction of a 2% tax on dividend income of more than RM100,000 in Budget 2025 (The Star, Oct 18; online at tinyurl.com/3thvusj3). While details have not been announced yet, I sincerely hope the government can consider exempting senior citizens/retirees (aged 60 and above) from having to pay the tax.
