Alarming rate of diabetes

TODAY is World Diabetes Day. Since it was launched by the International Diabetes Federation and the World Health Organi-sation in 1991 it has become the primary awareness campaign of the global diabetes community.

This year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps”, emphasises the importance of reducing the risk of diabetes, and ensuring that all those who are diagnosed with diabetes have access to equitable, comprehensive, affordable, and quality treatment and care.
