Turning the tide against pneumonia


THE Malaysian Medical Association’s proposal for a nationwide vaccination programme against pneumonia deserves urgent attention and full support, “Go big to fight pneumonia, says MMA” (The Star, Nov 5).

Pneumonia remains one of the leading causes of death in Malaysia, particularly among vulnerable groups such as young children, the elderly, and individuals with chronic health conditions.
