THE Legal Profession (Amendment) Bill 2024 was tabled for its first reading in the Dewan Rakyat on Dec 2, with the second reading scheduled for Monday.
Once the amendments enter into force, lawyers will be able to establish limited liability law partnerships, under the Legal Profession Act 1976 (LPA 1976), in conjunction with the limited liability partnership framework, under the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2012 (LLP Act).
