THE 12-hour cooling-off period introduced by the majority of Malaysian banks this year – a step also recommended by banks worldwide – was a reaction to the increasing number of unauthorised transactions and scams.
While the intention is commendable and steps are indeed necessary to counter the growing number of fraudulent transactions, the implementation of the 12-hour cooling-off period has overlooked its practicality for users.
