I HAD just returned home from an overseas trip and was exhausted after a four-hour long flight.

At KLIA (Kuala Lumpur Inter-national Airport), buses ferrying passengers from the satellite building to the main terminal containing customs and immigration as well as luggage pickup were hot and crowded, and long queues were the norm.
