RECENTLY there has been a spate of fatal accidents involving heavy vehicles.

Such accidents are increasing: Recorded deaths in 2021 were 230; in 2022 it was 232; in 2023, it was 235; and in 2024 up to the year-end, 260 deaths. Some-thing is not right.
