HAVING worked in a kindergarten for five years, I have experienced firsthand the joy and fulfilment of engaging with young children. Now, as a primary school teacher in a government school, I feel compelled to highlight preschool teachers’ significant contributions and the disadvantages they face.
Preschool is one of the most significant stages in a child’s life. It serves as the foundation for their educational journey, preparing them to transition into primary school. The period from birth to six years old is a vital window for cognitive development, as a child’s brain works like a sponge, rapidly acquiring knowledge, skills, and behaviours. During this critical time, preschool teachers play a pivotal role in nurturing children, shaping their growth, and fostering a lifelong love of learning.
