Shoot-off heartbreak

Taking aim: Syaqiera Mashayikh in action during the individual recurve event.

ARCHER Syaqiera Mashayikh was all smiles despite enduring a bitter end to her Paris Olympics campaign in the women’s individual recurve event at Les Invalides yesterday.

The 23-year-old had victory in her grasp as she led 5-3 going into the fifth and final set but her shot somehow veered off the mark in her second round clash against Brazilian Ana Luiza Sliachhticas Caetano.
