PETALING JAYA: Umar Osman may not have achieved the elusive dream of a podium finish at the World University Games but the Malaysian will be proud to be part of the fastest men’s 400m race in the history of the Games in Chengdu yesterday.

The 26-year-old championships record of 44.81s set in 1997 by Nigerian Clement Chukwu was shattered by Joao Coelho of Portugal and Australian Reece Nathaniel Holder by clocking 44.79.
