MAF select Azeem as wild card as offer does not include 400m event

Double joy: Mohd Azeem Fahmi anchored the Malaysian 4x100m relay team to gold and was then selected for the Paris Olympic Games.

KUALA LUMPUR: Mohd Azeem Fahmi and Shereen Samson Vallabouy both achieved golden runs for Malaysia in the Asean University Games (AUG) in Malang, Indonesia yesterday.

But only Azeem was in the mood to celebrate. The 20-year-old national sprinter has been given the sole universality ticket, also known as wild card, for the Paris Olympics from July 26-Aug 11.
