One-handed Jericho stands tall with gold and Games record


KUCHING: The sport of javelin has revived the hopes of Sabah athlete Jericho Hedryld Harry (pic) who gave up his ambition to become an engineer after losing a hand, but he successfully won a gold at the Para Malaysia Games (Sukma) yesterday.

The 23-year-old Sabahan described himself as the happiest person in the Land of Hornbills after successfully fulfilling his dream of a gold medal and breaking the national record in the F46 (physical disability) category with a throw of 36.83m, to erase the record set by Johor’s Mohd Iskandar Zainudin in the 2010 edition (35.26m).
