Eye on old marks

Ready to push the limit: Kristian Tung’s best in 5,000m is 14:31.56 and 33:48.049 in the 10,000m.

PETALING JAYA: Young runner Kristian Tung is all fired up to smash one of the nation’s oldest long distance records, and he is starting his mission at the Asian Cross Country Championship in Hong Kong today.

The England-based 20-year-old, who transitioned to track and field only two years ago, is looking to shatter the 30-year-old national records for 5,000m and 10,000m set by former long distance runner M. Ramachan–dran.
