PETALING JAYA: Malaysian badminton hit a new low when the shuttlers failed to get past the group stage at the World Junior Championships in Kazan, Russia.

The team surprisingly fell 2-3 in their final Group B match to Hong Kong in the mixed team event. Only the winners from the eight groups advance to the quarter-finals.
