Momota’s here to warm up for bigger things

WORLD No. 1 Kento Momota is indeed very eager to make amends for his two poor outings in Malaysia last year and is not running shy of the challenge. It was initially feared that the two-time world champion might pull out of the Malaysian Masters after he was said to have withdrawn from the Indonesian Masters next week, citing injury as a reason.

The 25-year-old turned up after all and showed no signs of being affected by injury as he bulldozed past P. Kashyap of India 21-17,21-16 in 43 minutes. After the match, Momota confirmed his withdrawal from the Indonesian meet.
