Fareez ready for first trial in hopes of getting licence to compete

PETALING JAYA: Fareez Anuar, the player being groomed to take over when Paralympic champion Cheah Liek Hou calls it a day, has received initial medical approval to play in the ongoing Bahrain Para International in Manama.

Fareez, who started training under Liek Hou’s coach Rashid Sidek, earlier this year, had been playing in the SU5 category (upper limb impairment) but needed to get the certification from the International Paralympic Comittee (IPC) recognised doctors in order to play in international tournaments.
