PETALING JAYA: Malaysia made a promising start in the doubles as five pairs advanced to the second round of the Malaysian Open in Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Tuesday (June 28).

The Badminton Association of Malaysia's (BAM) men's doubles pair Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani joined independent combinations Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi and Tan Kian Meng-Tan Wee Kiong in the second round.
