Just can’t stop him – Hoh downs another senior to reach semis

PETALING JAYA: Justin Hoh (pic) continued his giant killing run in the Malaysian International Challenge.

The world ranked No. 312 stunned world No. 84 Leong Jun Hao 21-11, 21-16 in the men’s singles quarter-finals at the Arena Badminton Perak in Ipoh yesterday.

He had knocked out another senior, Jacky Kok, in the second round.

He will now face an uphill battle as he takes on two-time national champion Lim Chi Wing for a place in the final today.

Chi Wing defeated Lim Chong King 21-18, 21-12 in another quarter-final match.

A modest Justin was delighted with the result and hopes to keep learning from his seniors in this championship.

“I played without pressure as I was the underdog in the match against Jun Hao,” said the 18-year-old.

“I’m quite satisfied with my performance so far.”

“Chi Wing used to be in the national team and is an experienced player. I hope to learn from him too,” he said.

The other semi-final will be between Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin and Yeoh Seng Zoe.
